Renault has unveiled the new Megane E-Tech electric, bringing a sharper design, improved electric performance, enhanced onboard technology and a simplified trim line-up.
First launched in 2022, Megane E-Tech electric marked the start of a new generation of Renault electric vehicles. In a fast-moving and highly competitive market, the new Megane E-Tech electric has been upgraded in four key areas: more dynamic exterior design, improved electric efficiency and charging performance, enhanced connected technology and driver assistance, and a simpler, more generously equipped range.
More than two in three Megane E-Tech electric buyers are new to electric vehicles, and the latest version has been developed to make that transition easier, with technology designed to support daily use as well as longer journeys.
The new Megane E-Tech electric is built in Europe at Ampere ElectriCity. The vehicle and battery are assembled at the Douai plant in northern France, while the electric motor is manufactured at Renault Group’s Cléon site in Normandy.

Sharper design and a simplified range
The new Megane E-Tech electric features a more dynamic exterior design, with a remodelled front end and stronger road presence. Apart from the headlights, all front-end components are new.
The more prominent body-coloured front bumper gives the car a sportier appearance, while the former side air intakes have been replaced by a new light signature featuring eight diamond-shaped elements in a chequerboard pattern. Positioned at the outer edges of the bumper, they help make the car appear wider and more planted.
The closed grille, with its gloss black finish and diamond pattern, forms part of the new visual identity, as does the Renault logo, now positioned beneath the bonnet to emphasise the car’s forward-leaning stance. The daytime running lights feature a new diamond pattern, while the rear lights retain their full-width layout, designed as 3D elements without a covering lens.
Megane E-Tech electric is also slightly taller, by 20mm, due to its larger battery. It retains key design features from the original model, including a generous wheelbase, large 19- or 20-inch wheels, distinctive wheel arches, a sloping roofline, high waistline and flush door handles.
The range has been restructured around two trim levels: techno and esprit Alpine. techno features a dynamic exterior look, body-coloured front bumper trim and new 19-inch alloy wheels. esprit Alpine adds specific 20-inch alloy wheels and distinctive design details.
The new Megane E-Tech electric is available in six body colours, including a new Satin Blue shade, with two-tone configurations also available. Inside, techno gains a TEP dashboard finish, while esprit Alpine receives updated interior styling including a new spectral grey door panel trim. LED ambient lighting can be personalised by the driver.

Improved electric performance
The new Megane E-Tech electric is powered by a wound-rotor synchronous motor that uses no rare earth materials. Manufactured at Renault Group’s Cléon site in France, it develops 220hp and 300Nm of torque.
It is paired with a new 67kWh usable LFP battery, delivering a WLTP range of up to 310 miles*. The battery uses new-generation lithium iron phosphate chemistry and a cell-to-pack architecture with 232 closely packed cells, improving packaging efficiency and usable battery capacity.
Charging performance has also been improved. DC rapid charging power increases to 165kW, allowing the battery to charge from 15% to 80% in around 24 minutes.
The electric ecosystem includes Google Maps route planning, which takes charging requirements into account to optimise journey times, as well as a heat pump and battery pre-conditioning to help maintain battery performance in different conditions.
New Megane E-Tech electric is equipped with an 11kW AC charger. Vehicle-to-load capability allows users to power a 220V device of up to 3,700W using an adaptor, while vehicle-to-grid functionality, depending on market availability, can feed electricity back into the grid and help reduce home charging costs.
The new Megane E-Tech electric is based on the dedicated RG medium 1.0 platform, formerly AmpR Medium. The battery remains positioned under the floor, supporting balanced weight distribution and a low centre of gravity. The multi-link rear suspension improves stability and control, while the steering has been optimised for a more direct response. To accommodate the new battery, the springs and dampers have been redesigned and the steering retuned.
Renault also offers a One Pedal function, allowing drivers to accelerate and slow to a complete stop using only the accelerator pedal. Four levels of regenerative braking, complemented by One Pedal mode, can be selected using the steering wheel paddles.

Connected technology and driver assistance
The cockpit is centred around Renault’s openR link system, with an inverted L-shaped twin-screen layout combining a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch multimedia screen as standard across all versions.
The openR link system with Google built-in provides access to key Google services and a wide range of in-car apps from the central display. Google Assistant manages voice control of main functions, while Google Maps supports navigation and EV route planning. Since the launch of Megane E-Tech electric in 2022, the system has received around 60 upgrades and improvements.
Google Gemini is also introduced, allowing drivers to interact with the vehicle using more natural, conversational speech. It can understand intent, maintain context across requests and provide relevant responses in real time.
The catalogue of in-car apps available through Google Play now includes more than 100 apps. The new Megane E-Tech electric also includes three years of internet connectivity, allowing customers to use downloaded apps without taking out an additional subscription or sharing a smartphone connection.
New features include driver recognition, using a camera in the windscreen pillar. Once a profile has been created with a facial scan, the vehicle can automatically activate personalised settings, including driving position, favourite media and the openR link environment. The data is stored exclusively in the vehicle and is not transmitted to a server.
A new Smart Mode function replaces MySense, automatically switching between Multi-Sense driving modes according to the driver’s behaviour. A wireless charger compatible with the Qi2 standard, and MagSafe on iPhone, is also available.
More than 30 safety and driver assistance systems are available. Key upgrades include intelligent adaptive cruise control, improved realistic in-dash view, emergency stop assist, predictive eco driving advice and Safety Score, Safety Coach and Safety Monitor functions, which analyse driving behaviour and provide personalised advice.
The connected experience continues outside the vehicle with the new my rnlt mobile app. It allows drivers to plan EV routes and send them directly to the vehicle via Google Maps, monitor charge status and range, control charging remotely, pre-condition the cabin, access key vehicle information and identify nearby charging points. The app will be rolled out gradually across Europe and later made available for all Renault vehicles.

New Renault Megane E-Tech electric continues to build on the fundamentals of the original model: strong design, intuitive technology, efficient electric performance and everyday driving pleasure.
